Representation of women in politics is not satisfactory!

Women in democratic societies are considered as a potential which by taking various initiatives can influence current policies which lead to improving the position of women in society and the family.

As for our society, the representation of women in politics is not satisfactory. For a more inclusive participation of women in the political party structures of the Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian communities, it is necessary to work on building their capacities, which would improve the current picture in policy-making.

In the training organized by “NDI” the topics that were addressed were related to the policy development cycle, the identification of important issues, the framework of a genuine policy and the importance of the policy-making communication strategy.

On July 21, 2020, the Organization Vocie of Roma, Ashkali and Egyptians (VoRAE), in cooperation with the National Democratic Institute (NDI) have continued with the next workshop on "Policy Development and Advocacy for Change" within the project " Social Justice for Roma, Ashkali and Egyptians in Kosovo ”.

Present in this workshop were thirteen (13) female participants where they were informed about the policy development processes by the lecturer of the workshop Mrs. Nita Bicurri.

NGOs "VoRAE" and "NDI" will continue their joint work where they aim to increase the participation of women from the community; Roma, Ashkali and Egyptians, in the political processes in Kosovo.

This workshop was conducted through the application "zoom" respecting the measures of decisions by state institutions in the framework of pandemic prevention COVID-19.
