Meeting with the Minister of Education Mrs. Arbërie Nagavci

Education, quality improvement and inclusion of students from marginalized ethnic communities such as Roma, Ashkali and Egyptians in the education system continues to be one of the most essential issues to have the most successful and competitive generations in our country. Therefore, in order to achieve the most fruitful results, we as NGOs have continuously advocated the creation of adequate mechanisms to improve and change the current state of education of community students.

Sot z. Isak Skenderi and Orhan Butic from the NGO "Voice of Roma, Ashkali and Egyptians" together with the representatives of "TDh" and "REF" had the honor and pleasure to meet with the Minister of Education Mrs. Arbërie Nagavci to discuss:

1) The process of implementing the administrative instruction for Learning Centers;
2) The possibility of creating an administrative instruction for the national scholarship program for students from the Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian communities, and
3) The possibility of including and promoting marginalized ethnic communities in textbooks.

Knowing the role and importance of Learning Centers to community students, after the conversation with Mrs. Nagavci, she promised to commit to budget allocation for the implementation of the administrative instruction for Learning Centers; for the preparation of an adequate document on the issue of scholarships and the revision of the proposal for the enrichment of textbooks, including the Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian communities for the coming years.
We as NGOs are open to building collaborative bridges to work vigorously in the diverse education and investment sector for children of marginalized ethnic communities.
