The right of children of national minorities to study their mother tongue - The Law on Education guarantees equal education to all communities in Kosovo.
Every child has the right to learn in their mother tongue in primary and secondary school if the conditions provided by the Ministry are met.


While according to Bajram, the students of North Mitrovica attend classes in the parallel system in Serbian. This is because Serbia allocates up to 100 euros for each child up to the age of 18, as well as social support for family members.


"Education is the key to education" is the campaign to enroll children in school institutions. From June 22 to July 7, children are enrolled in preschool and first grade.
The 5% quota from MEST has affected the children of the communities to be educated and 800 of them have completed high school.


Children who have reached the age of 6 by September are required by law on education to enroll in the first grade of primary education. The obligation to go to school can be postponed for various reasons of the child's health.
No student may be excluded from compulsory education due to physical or mental disability. In these cases compulsory education can be obtained in special education schools with a special program based on the special needs of the child.
